American rock band Third Eye Blind hit the music scene with their 1997 self-titled debut album Third Eye Blind. The album produced hits like “Semi-Charmed Life”, “How’s It Going to Be”, and “Jumper”, earning the band a multitude of fans and mainstream success; everyone was listening to Third Eye Blind in 1997. The success of the album earned the group the Billboard Music Award for modern rock track of the year and ultimately sold 6 million copies in the United States alone.
Third Eye Blind maintained the momentum from their debut release and followed up with their sophomore effort Blue, which was released in 1999. The album produced the top twenty hit “Never Let You Go”, a song still in rotation on radio stations today. After touring extensively, the band took a break, only performing at charity events, before following up with the album Out of the Vein in 2003. The single “Blind” charted on the Billboard Pop Charts and the band also produced a video for the single. Third Eye Blind has remained active, releasing five full-length albums and several EPs over the span of their career.
The group’s latest release, Thanks for Everything, is an EP containing seven cover songs. It was released on August 24, 2018, and is a reinterpretation of songs by musical artists with drastically different musical styles. An official music video for the song “Joke” was released on October 11, 2018, and can be found on the band’s official YouTube channel.
