On Friday, March 22, 2019, MuddFest 2019 will take over the Brady Theater in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The one night event features headlining act Puddle of Mudd and includes Saliva, Trapt, Saving Abel and Tantric. Puddle of Mudd hit the rock scene with the 2001 release of their major label debut album Come Clean, which produced the singles “Control”, “Blurry” and “Drift & Die”. The album’s fourth single “She Hates Me” became a number one hit on the Mainstream Rock Charts, bringing the band a new level of success that resulted in tours with Godsmack and Deftones, as well as a place on the 2001 Family Values Tour. In late 2018, frontman Wes Scantlin announced Puddle of Mudd will be releasing a new album in 2019.
The band Saliva hit the scene around the same time as Puddle of Mudd and achieved mainstream success with the release of their debut album Every Six Seconds in 2001. Songs like “Your Disease” and “Click Click Boom” were played in heavy rotation on rock radio stations around the country. The band has continued to produce music, releasing eleven studio albums, including the 2018 release 10 Lives.
The other bands performing at MuddFest, Trapt, Saving Abel and Tantric, all have a proven history of success. Trapt’s 2001 self-titled album released with Warner Bros. Records produced the single “Headstrong”, which reached number one on the Modern Rock Tracks and Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. The single also reached number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other singles from the album included “Still Frame” and “Echo”, both of which landed in the top 10 on the Mainstream and Modern Rock Tracks charts. Saving Abel has released four studio albums and toured with several top rock acts such as Hinder, Papa Roach, Red, and Pop Evil, as well as performing at multiple summer music festivals like Rocklahoma 2010. Tantric’s self-titled debut album released in 2001 debuted on the Billboard 200 chart and produced the singles “Breakdown”, “Astounded”, and “Mourning”.
MuddFest 2019 is a must see show for Oklahoma fans. The lineup is sure to produce a night of fantastic entertainment. Tickets are still available for this show and can be purchased at the Brady Theater box office or through the Brady Theater website.
