Mitski Heading to Dallas

By:  Graeme Guttmann, Contributor, Regional Music Journal

On June 2nd, Mitski, the Japanese-American singer-songwriter, will be performing at Canton Music Hall in Dallas, Texas in support of her fifth album Be the Cowboy. The album has received critical acclaim since its release on August 17, 2018. While this is Mitski’s fifth album, it is only her second with American indie label Dead Oceans. Her first two albums were self-released and her third was released via Double Double Whammy.

Her tour in support of this album begins May 24th at Boston Calling Festival and continues through September with stops in Europe. Mitski has long used her music to explore the duality of her identity and the tension of maintaining a private life in such a public field. Be the Cowboy was given the honor of Album of the Year by various publications including Pitchfork and Consequence of Sound. Tickets can be purchased via Mitski’s website or at local box offices.
